Dear Members Please note that today I received an email from MSN saying that if I did not remove the Name and Shamed List from the group within 48 hours that they would close this group down. I have removed the page but have emailed them back to find out why they find the page unacceptable. I read their terms and conditions and Code of Conduct and it states that spamming or harrassing other groups and members is a violation and yet, as this is what has happened to us reguarly ie the same spammers joining the group under false names and posting/and attempting to post spam as well as a member that joined and harrassed a few of our members. All I was doing, as a manager, was looking after my group and members by alerting other msn groups to these people so they could protect their own groups but I guess that MSN do not see this and that the spammers and harrassers are allowed to get away scot free. Before deciding to post a name and shame list in the group I trawled msn's FAQ's and help menus and nowhere could I find the correct facility to report the people that spammed in this group and the people who harrassed some of our members and nowhere could I find anything that allowed me to report user names and email addresses so that MSN could deal with it themselves. As I say, I have removed the page as requested by MSN but I am now not going to be approving any more new members for the foreseeable future to this group because I am sick and tired of my efforts to protect this group being wasted and at times being made a mockery of. I put so much hard work into this group yet sometimes I wonder why I bother. Thanks to the existing members who still support the group. |
