A Pond of Dreams

Let me cast no stone of discontent into a pond of dreams,
Nor fill reflective pools with tears of woe;
Just let me stand here shadowless, no thought and no regret
And drink with eyes the fullness of a silver moonlight’s glow.
The stillness hears invites me to reflect myself,
And weigh life’s daily torments softly on the water’s flow;
Such silence gives the tortured mind a moments grace
And shoulders somewhat wilted find the energy to rise,
And spread upon the waters cap that seems to age my face
Reflects the silver lining of the clouds that greet my eyes.
And would the storms of discontent recede, and with them tears
Be carried off - and blown away - to never more arise.
