We'll Greet the Coming Spring
When winter’s chilling winds blow Autumn’s fragrance
Of citrus scents away with summer storms,
When frosted breath of sleet and snow sweep icily
Through forested cathedrals of acorns;
When cotton clouds grow shadows,
Steel grey against the sky
And nesting birds seek shelter
To keep their children dry,
Then I shall seek your company,
Embrace you in desire;
I’ll warm you as the snowstorms rage -
Make love beside the fire;
We’ll hold each other tenderly,
Commit our hearts eternally,
We’ll greet the coming springtime
With a love that shall inspire.
When summer’s frightful storms fiercely whip red autumn leaves
Across a burning meadow surrounded by green towers,
When winter comes again draped in her chiffon veil
And runs her icy fingers over drying leaves and flowers;
When morning mists cut sharply
Through the breath of every creature,
And shrouds the woods in magic
Hiding every frond and feature;
Then we shall be each others?warmth,
Each others?breath - desire,
Yes, we shall be the life force
That brings back the springtime fire;
We’ll hold each other tenderly,
Commit our hearts eternally,
We’ll hand in hand greet springtime
With a love that shall inspire.
