Mist envelops the softly scented gums,

As dawn attempts to reinvent the day.

Birds herald the coming of spring

With tender courting chatter, upon gossamer wings.

Tranquility has draped her veil

And all that is beautiful is on display.

My mind enters the serenity,

And suddenly, as the fragrance of eucalypt and bottlebrush

Attempts to capture me,

My thoughts are drawn to you

And I experience the majesty of joy;
