A Prayer
I have come to seek the comfort that your sanctuary brings,
I’ve come to share my inner self, take comfort in your wings,
I’ve come to seek your guidance, and I ask you as a friend,
To wipe away these tears that fall and never seem to end.
You know I’ve been here once or twice, and often when in need,
You know I’m burdened, scared and torn a soul no longer freed,
You also know I’ve done my best; made mistakes that I’ve readdressed,
And now I’m back, in need again, so weary and yet blessed.
I kneel in silent prayer to you, and ask that if you may,
Give guidance to this servant to help him find the way,
I kneel before you now my god for only you can know,
The awful pain that lies have brought upon this life of woe.
I thank you for your daily love, your ever present grace,
I thank you for your power that puts a smile upon my face,
I thank you for your gift to see, the grace in others - their beauty
I thank you and find comfort - cause I know that you love me.
