Deuteronomy 22
28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
This is a prime example carnal marriage. Notice that it comprises a joining in the flesh with or without a witness. The words, "if they be found" means there there is a witness. However, in this case, the witness is not the sanctification of the Holy Spirit. It is this sanctification that makes the difference between a godly and a fleshly marriage. The word "carnal" means "fleshly", or "pertaining to the flesh". This biblical "shot gun" wedding still has hope. God can sanctify it.
Here is another example of fleshly marriage:
15
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16
What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Any man joining to an harlot has married her in the flesh. This is carnal marriage -- without sanctification and ungodly. Nonetheless it is STILL a marriage (one flesh) however corrupt. Harlots practice polyandry, which is a blasphemous mockery of sanctified marriage, This form of marriage totally inverts the BIBLE EXAMPLE of a godly union between a man and a woman in the Lord. Polyandry is the antithesis of ordained and sanctified marriage. Polyandry results in the satanic 'law of bondage' of the wife over men, plural. The Great Harlot in the book of Revelation is actually the corrupt wife and the ruler of the kings (comprising a beast) who eventually turn on her and devour her.
Sadly, polyandry is much more common than most people suppose. Any woman who has voluntarily laid with more than one man in her lifetime while any of these male counterparts are yet alive and fails to repent of her ways is a polyandrist. She has become "one flesh" with more than one man without the sanctification. She has a plurality of husbands in the flesh. In other words, she is a harlot.
