Brother Bryan,
I cannot find,  nor do I believe there are any examples of polygamy in the new testament.

Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

I will also say here that I do not believe it is fitting in the Church.  however I do see the point Dolly is making as to God not condemning such in the old testament.

WITH RESPECT TO THE LAW ... Deuteronomy 22 tells us precisely what marriage is. The dietary laws and the commandments of the ordinances of the Levitical priesthood have been fulfilled in Christ.

l'basar echad (ONE FLESH) is not a ceremonial law of the priesthood. It is not a dietary law. It is a moral and civil law given by God to mankind to uphold and live by. The moral and civil laws of God have not changed.  They are the land marks that God's people have forgotten. The Whole of the Law is not perished but fulfilled in Jesus. The Lord God has not changed. He is the Changeless One. Therefore in the sight of God, marriage (ONE FLESH) today is still what marriage (ONE FLESH) was in the beginning. Malachi 2:16  For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

In the sight of God, marriage occurs when a man joins to a woman to become ONE FLESH with her. PERIOD. IF she was a willing virgin, GOD says that the man who takes her to wife may NOT PUT HER AWAY ALL OF HIS DAYS. SHE is his wife. God HATES PUTTING AWAY. Nowhere... in all of the scripture, does the HOLY BIBLE say that HIS LAW concerning this precept has changed.  The same Jesus, yesterday, today, and forever, STILL SAYS joining unto a willing virgn is indeed marriage. God's law has not changed in the least bit. THE LAW STANDS FOR ALL.  EVEN the unsaved live UNDER THE LAW. The saved live "LAWFULLY" and ESTABLISH the law. Therefore let us establish GOD'S law in DEUTERONOMY 22, seeing that the law was our SCHOOLMASTER:

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Jesus said ..Matt 11:12-13
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Who were the "violent"? Were these not the very ones who violated the LAW of GOD even to take the kingdom of heaven by force? Surely these violators have been cast out of the kingdom of heaven for having contempt for the perfect LAW and ORDINANCES of the DIVINE CREATOR. For NOT the hearers of the law are just before God, but the DOERS of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another. (Romans 2:13-15) Friends, this is what GENTILES do! This is Romanism. Consider who was in power in Jerusalem from the days of JOHN THE BAPTIST and at the time that JESUS spoke these words.

Just as God suffered violence under the law it appears from the Scriptures Dolly posted that He also suffered Polygamy

13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. KJV

Just as God suffered violence under the law it appears that the SCRIPTURE reveals that He also suffered the little children to come unto Him. The BOOK OF REVELATION is a PROPHECY by JOHN the BELOVED directly from JESUS. God has suffered us many good things ?including prophecy in this dispensation. God has also suffered mankind evil things. JESUS SUFFERED the little children to come unto Him but none of these FULL BIBLE TRUTHS substantiate the erroneous belief that GODLY MARRIAGE is unlawful, immoral, or unfitting in the Church. God suffered David to have wives (plural) and these wives whom David did indeed marry were "added" to King David from the hand of God. God added wives to King David and it was God's WILL and God's PLEASURE to do so. I will not dispute that God suffers us many good and godly things.

So I would like to say that suffering something and being pleased with it are two entirely different things.  and I think from the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles God must look at it the same way.

This is a PERSONAL OPINION that it might well hold true for those of who have not learned long suffering. AGAIN. Both God and Man have suffered many things for the sakes of loved ones (plural). Every sinner deserves damnation but God suffers the sinner because it PLEASES Him to do so. He suffered the little children to come unto Him and this also greatly pleased Him.  As touching opinion, I would think that the Apostles of God need not read personal or private interpretations into the Bible.

When God is DISPLEASED with a matter He does not cower, or feign pleasure ?that would imply that God is a deceiver. No, He addresses the matter directly. God is not the least bit mysterious about what DISPLEASES Him by the slightest stretch of the human imagination, but rather, HE OUTRIGHT DECLARES WHAT DISPLEASES HIM. JESUS has never played coy with His people who love Him. JESUS does not waffle. He does not wink at the truth and neither does He condone it. Now this is the WONDERFUL thing about JESUS... He tells it like it is. He does not set up His people for failure with half-truths that they may fall into a pit or a snare, or stumble in the dark for want of seeking the "other half", or "the rest of the story".  JESUS JUST LAYS IT ON THE LINE. He doesn't pussy-foot around like so many (professing to be pastors) do today.

For Jesus said again...Luke 16:16
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. KJV

Yes the Changeless One said these words and by adding wives unto His servants he most certainly keeps His Word.

The fact that the Apostle only forbade it to Elders and Deacons in the church indicates that the practice was indeed still going on in Israel at the time of the Apostles.

PRIVATE INTERPRETATION COMBINED WITH FACT.

Where is it written that the Apostle "forbade" elders and deacons in the church to have more than one wife? Is it in the NIV BIBLE perhaps? It is NOT in the AKJV. Rather these were required to have at LEAST one wife. The words "husband of ONE WIFE" do NOT equate to "huband of ONLY one WIFE" and I would not hesitate to challenge every self-righteous soul who would insist that they do!  A husband of four wives is indeed the husband of one wife also. Throughout the New Testament the common usage of the word "one" does NOT directly translate to the words "ONLY ONE". The common usage of this GREEK WORD, mia (mia) means in our English, "AN", or "A" as in "the husband of [a] wife" or, as in the eater of [an] apple." It does refer to the singular however, where and when the scripture surely means "ONLY", monon, ( movnon ) the scripture makes this very clear. Now I will conceed that the eater of an apple is the eater of ONE apple, but I do not conceed that the eater is restricted to eat ONLY ONE apple. I would have to ADD a specific word to it to make the sentance say "ONLY ONE". The word "monon" (only) just isn't used in conjunction with the word "gune" (wife) in any of these New Testament  scriptures ?nbsp;although some translations would have us to believe otherwise.

One quickly learns that under the auspices of Roman Catholicism, the NIV BIBLE actually added an extra WORD in favor of their UNHOLY MANDATES. These deceivers, eager to change the Word of God by adding to the word, added the word "BUT" to hide this scriptural truth; but ... that " BUT" just isn't  in the HOLY BIBLE. ?But it was ADDED. Careful examination of the KING JAMES GREEK INTERLINEAR reveals what the scripture says precisely. LOOK IT UP... " The husband of but one wife" is NOT scriptural ?no ifs, ands, or buts about it: This GREEK "mia" refers to a minimum of ONE  ?not a maximum. There is indeed a word in the GREEK meaning "ONLY, BUT, ALONE". IF the APOSTLE PAUL had truly meant this, that word would have been used because the LORD would not suffer Paul to deceive His people. What the Apostle meant is precisely what Paul stated: mia does not mean "ONLY ONE" ?mia here, must mean at the least "ONE" when we would consider " the fact that the practice was indeed still going on in Israel at the time of the Apostles" as previously stated. What the BIBLE MEANS... is what the BIBLE SAYS. GOD does not mince words ?why should we?
