I am going to start off this board by talking about one of my true passions, books.
Hadassah, written by Tommy Tenney, is the name of a fictional retelling of the Biblical story of Esther. I have always loved the story of Esther, and I find that her tale is uniquely expressed in this novel.
Oftentimes I find that the intriquisies of Biblical stories are left to historical research salted with lots of imagination. Simply reading the Bible without any additional research leaves us lacking in the character's thought processes and actions not listed in the text. I find that Tenney does a wonderful job and filling in the details of Esther's story. Although a decent amount of the text can be viewed as speculation, human nature has been the same since Adam and Eve. Reading Esther's story from a very personal point of view causes me to appreciate how God used her to save His people.
Since I have not quite finished the book, I will discuss more of this later.
