~~ The Woman at the Well ~~

John 4:3-42- On the surface this Scripture seems to be only a simple discourse between Jesus and a woman; but the Spirit reveals some very deep truths here.

Jesus being wearied sat on the well. A woman of Samaria came to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

Now, what makes this out of the ordinary is this: first, the woman was a Samaritan; the Jews had no dealings with Samaritans; also Jesus being a man, should not have talked with this adulterous woman.

So, why would he ask her to give him a drink?

She asked him why he was asking her for a drink; she knew this was very out of the ordinary.

Now, for those who claim that Jesus will not give his word to women, I want to ask you-does that only count now-or is it supposed to be true when He was on earth?

For the very reason Jesus asked her for a drink of water was to get this conversation going so he could give this woman some very special Word.

Jesus is leading her into receiving the revelation of who he is. This is the first time Jesus gave this revelation to anyone.

v10-Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Then he reveals to her that his ‘water?will keep her from thirsting again; he gave her the revelation that this will spring up into everlasting life. This was new revelation to anyone.

She asked for his water. Then, Jesus said Go call thy husband, and come hither.

Why did he say this? For, it is revealed that he was going by the law; that he could not teach her; she had to have her husband present. BUT, watch him change that.

She confessed that she had no husband. Then Jesus told her of her five husbands and now living with one who was not her husband. So, he knew the truth of her. She then engages in a Spiritual conversation with him. She said I perceive that you are a prophet.

Then she goes to the age old question of who, how and where to worship. She said our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say that in Jerusalem is the PLACE where MEN ought to worship.

See, they did not let women into their place of worship; it was just men. That is Jewish law. This woman is Samaritan--she wants to worship God, but she feels cut off.

Now, in verse 23, Jesus gives this adulterous, Samaritan woman a great revelation (he gave her his Word). He showed her that at this very moment, He is changing that style of worship. He revealed to this woman, something no one else knew at this time. He changed the thing of having to worship at Jerusalem. V21-Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. See, he said When YE shall not worship this way; Talking to her. . A woman.

V23-He reveals to her that the true worshippers worship the Father in spirit and in truth; and the fact that the Father is seeking such worshippers.

V24-Now, Jesus does something new-He revealed God to this woman. He said-God is a Spirit- something others did not know. Most still do not know this.

Jesus gave this Word, this message to this woman. Is this not a true message? Is it not true Word of God? Then why did Jesus give it to this woman? Men, get hold of this-don’t be guilty of fighting against Jesus.

V25-She brings up the question of who the Messiahs is.

V26-Now, Jesus gives this woman another revelation: this time he gives her the revelation of who he is. This is the first time Jesus has revealed this to anyone. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

When Pilate and other men questioned him on this; he did not answer them. Why did he give this revelation to this woman? He was bringing in the NT way of doing things. He was giving his word, his revelation to women. He was lifting up the low.

Then, his disciples came back and marveled that he talked with the woman; but they did not dare ask about it. They could not interfere with what Jesus was doing here.

V28--The woman then left her water pot (signifying she left the OT bondage-having to draw water each day-never being satisfied with the sacrifices of the O.-always thirsting)-

But look at what she did then-

She went her way into the city, and told the MEN. Yes! She went and testified, or gave those men the Word, which Jesus had given her. Strange, isn’t it? Did Jesus know she was going to go and do this? Yes, indeed, he did. Why did he not stop her, seeing it is supposed to be wrong?

The disciples tried to get him to eat. He said, I have meat to eat that ye (men) know not of.

Their minds went to natural food; for they were carnal minded.

V34-Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

So, he is doing God’s will- then if it is not God’s will for Him to give His Word to a woman, why did he do it? Was he disobeying God? No! He said he had to FINISH GOD’S WORK.

So what is that? He is going to bring in women into the work of God. The men were already there; so this is something Jesus has to yet do--to finish the work. The work was to bring us all into one body; to bring us all into harmony; to bring us into the statue of A PERFECT MAN. This perfect man is all the Christians (men and women) in perfect unity. The BRIDE OF CHRIST consists of both MEN AND WOMEN. Are you men ‘female?to Christ? You bet you are. By the same token, we women are sons of God.

See, Jesus did not stop talking to this woman when she showed that she had no husband to come and be present; Jesus gave HER the revelation of both God and the Messiahs (himself). This is before Peter received His revelation. Jesus showed that He could talk to this woman without a man being there to receive the Words. People, don’t blind yourself to this.

Now, look at v39-Many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him FOR THE SAYING OF THE WOMAN, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

Now, that is pretty clear that this woman went into the city and testified (same as preached) to the MEN of that city; and as a result, many of them turned to Jesus. Did Jesus rebuke her for this? Certainly not. Why not? Did he refuse those she converted to him? Of course not.

V41-And many more believed because of his own word;

But, she was instrumental in wining these also; for it was she that brought them to Jesus with her words. WORDS SHE RECEIVED FROM THE MOUTH OF JESUS.

As Jeremiah said, Women let your ear hear the words of His mouth.

Glory to our wonderful God. Ladies, don’t let men cheat you of this blessing. Men, don’t stand and fight against what Jesus did. He changed it right there. He changed the place, the how, the way they were to worship and receive the Word. He showed her that women would be the true worshippers-v21-when YE shall not do it in these places-YE shall do it in spirit and truth.

Now, here is another instance of Jesus praising a woman for seeking the Spiritual instead of the natural.

For those of you who say the kitchen and house is the ‘woman’s place?read on.

Luke 10:38-42-

Jesus went into Martha’s house.

V39-And she had a sister called Mary, WHICH ALSO SAT AT JESUS?FEET, AND HEARD HIS WORD.

Now, let someone deny this: Mary (a woman) is sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening to Him teach; she is receiving His word. Why does he not stop her, if he does not give his word to women?

Read on--

v40-But Martha was cumbered about much serving, (the very thing men always say is the woman’s PLACE)-

And came to him and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.

See, Martha was one of those who accepted this thing that she had to be in the kitchen when the Word is being taught.

She thought that Jesus would see it this way, too.

After all, she is fixing HIM food. Now, I ask you, IF this is the woman’s place; IF women are to ?I>serve?and not ‘sit at His feet, listening and learning from Him the Word, WHY, WHY, WHY did he not take this opportunity to correct this mistake right here? Why did he not tell us and Mary that she should be in the kitchen helping her sister? He is supposed to teach us truth; then why did he not tell us right here that the woman’s PLACE is serving?

But what did Jesus say to her?

Read on-

V41-And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

V42-BUT ONE THING is needful; and MARY hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

GLORY TO MY GOD!

I have also chosen that GOOD PART. I choose to listen to His Word and learn from his mouth. From the mouth of Jesus himself- refuting the thought that serving in the kitchen is woman’s PLACE. That this is the good part. No!

What did Jesus say was the GOOD PART?

Women listening to and learning the Word; not caring about the other; the serving- the natural things.

Isn’t this completely opposite of what men tell us our place is? Women listen to Jesus; he is your Savour; not these men telling you your place is in the ‘house? (With your mouth shut)

Your place is at the feet of Jesus; he said this is the good part; if you choose this, it will not be taken away from you. I have always chosen this good part; you men can not take it away from me.

Now, read where Jesus ate at Simon's house: John 12-,Mark 14 &Matt. 26-Here Martha served again: but Mary did something out of the ordinary-she brought expensive ointment and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair:

The men there were indignant, as most men would be today; they rebuked her for this- (after all, she should have been serving with her sister, Martha)-but here she is kissing Jesus' feet! They were indignant!

But Jesus rebuked THEM. He said that this would be told of her forever; she had a revelation of his soon coming death; Jesus said she had come to anoint his body for burial. Did any of the rest of them (men) know he was fixing to be buried? No. But Mary knew. Jesus said this is what she did.

Once again, Jesus takes up for Mary; not Martha. He verifies that Mary is the one doing something for him; something Spiritual. He said this would be told for a memorial of her. Do any of you know of another place in the Word, where this is said of anyone? A poor WOMAN who had a revelation of the NT. way of giving. She gave all she had; Jesus praised her for this.

All of this glory for women happened BEFORE the resurrection.

Then there is the woman taken by men to Jesus to be stoned for adultery (notice that they did not take the man; yet they said they had caught her in the very act; proving they had to have caught the man, too; the law said to stone them both).

Jesus went along with their method of the law; he said, he that is without sin, cast the first stone at her. When no one could do it, Jesus went to the NT. way of doing things = Grace. He forgave her, did not condemn her and told her to do it no more. See he took it away from the law of stoning. He gave her grace.

See, how women were all used to bring in Grace?

I am not against men. I just want you to see that you men are bringing women into bondage that Jesus set us free from. You are cheating God out of the praise, glory, and souls being brought into His kingdom which women could and would do, if given their freedom.

If this is not enough to convince even the hardest heart, it is because you are seeing the LAW in the Word instead of seeing Grace and that blinds you. You are under the LAW; therefore, you are not the children of God.

Are you seriously a woman? An elderly woman? A woman that is assumed to teach the young women in the Church? If so, I understand why so many young women today are confused concerning their roles in the Body of Christ. If you represent the best of what the Godly has left to offer we are in big trouble. Perhaps you are the one who thinks that the Church is the Son of God also.

Jake,  you are so confused you cannot keep  Tweety and me apart.

Now you need to contact her and see if she is me.
If I were Tweety  I would certainly tell you.
So take the above message apart, a bit at a time, and show me with Scripture where error is in it?

Why do you think the truth is big trouble?  Because it crosses your false teachings!

Come on now.  surely if you have so much understanding, you can show me with Scripture where I went wrong, instead of your slandering and false accusations.

No, I am NOT Tweety.  Yes, I am a Senior Lady.  68 years old.
been serving God since pre-school age.  God spoke directly to me, as a very small child many times.

Once, when I was eight, my Mother was sick, with food poisoning, to the point of death.  she was dying.  I was alone with her in the room.  I was crying, because I could not bear the thought of loosing my precious Mother.

God spoke to me as clear as day, and said,  If you will pray for your Mother, I will heal her.  Mind you now,  I was raised in a Baptist church, which denies these kinds of things from God.

But it happened just the same.  So I knelt by her bed and prayed.  She was immediately healed.  She always told that she was dying when God touched her.  She did not know for many years that I had been the one who prayed for her.  I told her one day, after she was an elderly woman.  It truly amazed her.

I have hungered for the truth and power of God all my life.  I was starving in all the churches I attended.  At the age of 24, sitting on the piano stool, as I was the pianist at our church, also taught the ladies class, God spoke to me and told me to leave that church and never go back.

I obeyed immediately.  Never went back.  Started going to a Jesus-only Pentecostal church.  After nine months, God gloriously filled me with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.
All the people there told me they had never seen such a glorious  outpouring of the Spirit.

But I still starved for the truth of the Word.  After many, many years of deep studying and searching of the Word of God, He spoke to me, directly,  telling me that the Jesus-only doctrine was wrong.

He then began teaching me Himself.  He not only speaks truth to me, but uses the Scripture to reveal things to me.  He always immediately bring many Scripture verses to me, proving what he tells me.

So I ask you to sincerely slow down from speaking evil of me, and study what I write.  Compare it with the Written Scripture.  compare what you now believe and see if it is truly written in Scripture.

Now about Tweety.  She is an internet friend of mine.  although she and I do not believe a thing alike, we are friends.  I try to show her truth, but she is so set on Dake, that she will not listen.  I pray to God that she will someday open her heart to God's truth.

She was raised a Catholic.  I was raised a Baptist.  She is totally into Dake now.  I do not believe one thing Dake had to say.

I go only by what is actaully written in Scripture.  it must fit all other scripture and not cross anywhere to be truth.
What God has so graciously given me is the only thing I have every heard which can do this.

If it is NOT WRITTEN ,  it is lies of man.

Jo Smith.....Tweety's name is Linda.

Is God a woman, Tweety?

JT

No, Jake.  God is not a woman.  Neither is he a man.

1sa 15:29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

Job 9:32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Job 9:33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

Nu 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

There is more than the required three witnesses proving that God is not a man. Surely you know that Jesus was a man?

Jesus told the woman at the well, God is a Spirit.

God is not a man, neither the son of man. Jesus is a man, and the son of man. Jesus is not a spirit.

Lu 24:37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. Lu 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Lu 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

This was spoken by Jesus after his resurrection. He was still not a spirit.

He was A MAN OF SORROWS AND ACQUAINTED WITH GRIEF.

One God and one mediator between God and men, THE MAN, CHRIST JESUS.

Tweety lives in New York.  I live in Georgia.  We speak on the phone together sometimes.  I enjoy talking with her very much.

If you should ever wish to talk with me on the phone, let me know.  I will give you my number.

Now I wish to  tell you this, and I do not have much time today for computering, as I must prepare for my weekend job.

I work all weekend, so will not be back until Monday.

You are looking at the flesh, which is of the carnal mind.  You are seeing what we are in our human bodies.

Spiritual thing are not understood by the carnal mind.  In Christ there is neither male nor female.
So in  Christ, which is to be in grace, God does not look at what we are in our human bodies.  He looks at the heart.  He looks at what Spirit abides in us....not speaking of our own human spirits.

If the Holy Ghost is inside a person, then it is He which speaks and does the works.  I, as a human woman, with the Spirit of Christ in me,  am a SON OF GOD.  God sees his Son in me.

See, the SON kingdom is HUMAN.  The Father kingdom is SPIRIT.
the Spirit is consider to be the MALE.  it gives us the spirit of life.  It puts the SEED of life into our spiritual 'womb'.  Yes, you have one also.

That SEED is the Word of God.  it is placed there by the Holy ghost.  God does not beget his children in the fleshly womb.  He did not beget his Son, Jesus, in the fleshly womb of Mary.

He beget his Son, Jesus Christ, in the spiritual womb of the man, Jesus.  This only begotten Son of God was born from the dead, the day Jesus was resurrected.  Romans 1: 1-4.  read it.

Jesus is the virgin who bore the manchild to God.  Each of us must do the same thing, if we are to be children of God.

If you are a member of the body of Christ, the Bride of christ, then you are FEMALE to God.

You must receive the Seed of God into yourself and allow it to grow and become a Son of God.  I must do the same thing.  To God we are all FEMALE.
But in the Spirit, we are all the same.  I am a spiritual son of God.

If you are a member of the true Church, that is female to God.  If you are a member of the false church, that is also female.

You are looking at the flesh, which is strictly carnal.

I am looking at the Spirit, which is the spiritual mind.  Only a spiritual mind is allowed of God to TEACH.

So in truth,  (and not to be slinging anything)  In truth,  I am the qualified teacher and you are not.

Now do not take offense here.  I am taking up my precious time to try to help show you all some real truth, which will get you to a spiritual understanding.

If Jesus had been God, he could never have died or been born from a woman.  Get to the TRUTH.
Jo

Jake,  I took this from your front page:  We believe that any such revelation is confirmed by the scripture and by the Living Word, Who is that True Light, the Holy Spirit, and even the Great Teacher. Therefore let us rejoice in the knowledge of the Truth.

Now that is exactly what I am saying to you.  All true revelation is and has to be, confirmed by the Written Scripture.  If it is not written, it is false.

So all I am asking is that you give me the written Scripture for what you are teaching.

When I re-read my message on the woman at the well, last night, after I had posted it here, I saw that I had said she was an adultress.  I realized then that this is not stated for fact in Scripture, and If I had not already posted it, would have taken that out.

I do not wish to say one thing which is not solidly proven by the Written Word.  Now I do believe she was living with a man outside wedlock, for Jesus said the one you now have is not your husband.  He confirmed that the others had been her husbands.

I guess I have always heard that she was an adultress.  Of that I can not say for sure.  So should not have said that myself.

I wrote that message a few years ago.

But I do know that truth must be confirmed by at least two or more witnesses.

Jesus stated that she had a man who was not her husband,  If that is adultery, then she was in adultery.  If it is not adultery, then maybe she was not.  At any rate, this does NOT CHANGE THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH REVEALED IN THIS MESSAGE.

So why not focus on the glorious truth in the message?

"Now that is exactly what I am saying to you.  All true revelation is and has to be, confirmed by the Written Scripture.  If it is not written, it is false."

PRAISE GOD! THERE IS HOPE FOR US BOTH THEN.

ALREADY WE AGREE ON SOMETHING.

So all I am asking is that you give me the written Scripture for what you are teaching.

Patience is a virtue. You are not the only Neo-Feminist Matriarch I am contending with.

When I re-read my message on the woman at the well, last night, after I had posted it here, I saw that I had said she was an adultress.  I realized then that this is not stated for fact in Scripture, and If I had not already posted it, would have taken that out.

GOD be praised! I will confess to you that I thought she was an adulteress too. The BOSS straightened me out on that one real quick, once I got the Holy Ghost. I honestly believe that if you are not beyond apology then there is hope for us both. I am not nearly perfect and those who know me do know that I am not beyond sincere apologies. It looks to me as thought there may be HOPE for the both of us.

I do not wish to say one thing which is not solidly proven by the Written Word.  Now I do believe she was living with a man outside wedlock, for Jesus said the one you now have is not your husband.  He confirmed that the others had been her husbands.

This is a very good policy. I allow some flexibility in this in so much that if the non-biblical terminology can indeed  illustrate that the word(s) in question can also be supported in their connotative values through their literal meanings in the New Age English, I'm okay with it.

I guess I have always heard that she was an adultress.  Of that I can not say for sure.  So should not have said that myself.

I wrote that message a few years ago.

But I do know that truth must be confirmed by at least two or more witnesses.

Amen. If we bear witness of ourselves our witness is not true and the truth is not in us.

No, she was NOT in adultery, but she was living there, with him and that man was in her care. She was indeed keeping him and I suspect he was "keeping" her also. It took me a while to understand it and although I do not yet understand it fully, I know what I received in prayer. I will say that this woman was SINCERELY seeking after GOD; and I will tell you something else, sister: She was among the greatest of women that ever lived on this planet. She ranks with Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, and the rest of the Matriarchs of GOD.

So why not focus on the glorious truth in the message?

Good question. Shall I give an answer, or is this only a rhetorical question. "SHACKING UP" (co-habitating) is not a sin, in and of itself. ONLY JESUS could have known this woman's circumstances. Someplace in this FORUM... buried somewhere deep, no doubt, I give my reasons for why *bless her soul* THE WOMAN AT THE WELL was NOT an adulteress. I'll try to find it but no promises. GOD BLESS YOU.

PRAISE GOD. IT'S IN MY LINKS (LEFT MARGIN)

Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. 1 Corinthians 7:27 Praise the Holy and Blessed name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour!

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus Christ, heavenly Father... we pray Lord, that you open our eyes, our ears, our hearts, and our understanding to your Word of Truth; that we doubt nothing in you and that we might boldly come before your throne to search out matters that have been hidden from us that we might abide in your truth. Please grant us the wisdom that we all so desparately need to avoid the snares of the enemy who has been lying to us for thousands of years and please help your sons and daughters to become the men and women that they should be. In your Holy name, Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen. (Please remain seated at your computers.)

Praise God everyone. I have a word from the Lord and this is a sermon. Please turn with me to gospel of John, chapter four and read with me:

John 4

1 When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.

5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

41 And many more believed because of his own word;

42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Amen

Christ Jesus has deliberately asked a Samaritan woman to bring her husband forward when he already knew she had no husband. What was He trying to do? Flush out a truth  that he already knew existed? Perhaps. I do think that she told him nothing that he did not already know. I do think that Jesus Christ knew just who He would be meeting that day, at the well. Interestingly we also notice that the authority that this woman resides with is not her husband. Has she sinned?

Although most people would be quick to judge her for an harlot we do not have this testimony. For Christ is also quick to point out that she has had five husbands. If he called them husbands then they were husbands indeed. For all we really know she could easily have been a widow. We do not know whether the man she lived with took her to wife, or do we? If he took her to wife, would he not be her husband? One thing is certain: This woman was quick to honor the authority of the Husbandman and she also quickly perceived that He was a prophet among the patriarchs. It did not take her very long to suspect that Jesus was the Christ. It was the witness of Christ that convinced her, and those came to see him that day, that he was the Messiah. Jesus knew something about the Samaritan woman that no other man could have possibly known. I would not be too quick to judge this woman to use this verse as a prohibition against common-law marriage. That is not what this verse is about. It is about the LIVING WATER and illustrates how Jesus Christ honors His own laws implicitly. Even Christ honored the law of the HUSBANDMAN and the scripture reveals how that the woman was subject unto it.

The allegory of the well was a dynamic that even Christ had to fulfill. Remember Issac and Rebekah? How was Issac's wife identified? Again, a very similar thing occured when Jacob procurred his bride. Now here are three examples of a woman at the well and the law of the Husbandman is exempflied in each of them. Only Jesus had that LIVING WATER. In all three cases the woman at the well was eligble for marriage. I think that the last woman (the scripture does not tell her name) was through with fleshly marriage. I think she was tired of it. I really believe she was looking for something better. I think she was tired of getting thirsty and that her reproach as a woman still required that she maintain some male authority over her. Jesus came to the rescue. He is the Husbandman.

If Jesus Christ had really desired us to believe that a government certified piece of paper was so important in the sanctification of a marriage between a man and a woman he would have said so. He knew exactly how many men this woman had joined with in marriage. Do you think he needed to see a certificate to verify this? The fact is, that the man she had at that time was NOT her husband in the traditional sense of the word; for whatever reason that man did NOT take her to wife in the marriage bed but he was still her authority because she was pleased to dwell with him and serve him. PERIOD. She was not an harlot as many churches today would have us to believe. The Samaritan woman wasn't an harlot any more than Rebekah and Rachel were whores. We should not be so quick to jump to conclusions about people.

This is a classic tactic of the enemy and author of confusion. Of course, there may be some among us who would also be inclined to agree that Rachel was a whore. After all... she took her sister's own husband, right? Right. And it was lawful for her to do so. At that time there was no such law was given that it should be otherwise and... in the beginning it was not so. No, I will not judge these women. The Word judges them. The Word plainly states, that in this respect, they have NOT SINNED. All three of these women obeyed the biblical law of the HUSBANDMAN. (To which I might add, is considerably more than what most men and most women attending assemblies in the mainstream churches of North America today are doing.)

This is a very good message, Jake.  (btw, if you object to my calling you Jake, I will refrain from it.  I like it.)

I will also take those words out of my message, before I post it again, or print it out again.  I was really shocked when I read it in my own message last night.  I realized right then that I had said the wrong thing.

thank you for this good message on the lady.  btw. I am NOT a Neo-Feminist Matriarch.

I do not really even know what that means.  I am only a daughter of God, who loves his Word and his truth.

I love christian fellowship around the word of God.
When we have time to discuss this matter further, I will show you something beautiful which God has taught me.

We are all FEMALE to God.  He is yours and my husbandman.  No earthly person is the husbandman.  Jesus said,  My father is the husbandman.
Jesus is my HUSBAND.

But he is also yours.  It is totally spiritual.

I had two husbands, due to the death of the first one.  I obeyed both of them, to my sorrow.
It was the worst mistake I ever made.

I did it believing God required it of me.  I do honour them as told to do.  But they were not true husbands to me.

I was 'married' to them, but they were not true husbands.  I lived with them, but they did not love me.  The second one beat me at the drop of a hat.  we finally could no longer live together.

I live alone, but am not alone, for my God and spiritual husband is with me.  He leads me and guides me.

you said in one of your messages, on marriage, that a man is driven with sexual desires.  Well, so is the woman.  But we do not expect to live with more than one man.  it is not of God.

No man can be the right kind of husband to more than one woman.  she is being cheated and denied her own desires in such a condition.  I would never, ever submit to such an abnormal way of life.

I have always felt sorry for women in such bondage and sorrow.

It was never God's way.  Man chose their own way.  God told Abraham to harken to the words of Sarah, when Sarah was the one who had the revelation from God.
that is true marriage.  Each submitting to the other.

God can and does use either man or woman.  I have much I would like to share with you as we are able.

I love God and love His word above anything else in this world.  It is my life.

I do not agree with  either the man or the woman being above the other.  We are equals in Christ.  In the flesh, the man is stronger, therefore insists on having his way.  it is bad for both parteners.

Love is the answer.

IS SATAN A WOMAN?

*******
well, hello again.

Proved you CANNOT take any truth!  I knew you could not take the pure word much longer.

Post it to the world.  No one here is seeking any truth, for when it is put in your faces, you reject it and run and can do nothing but spew out evil, ugly name calling.

But see, you could not keep me out if you wished to do so.

but do not fear,  I will not stay.  Had not intended to come back before, but you had to goad me into it.

I have no desire to deal with such evil speaking dogs.  Knew you could not discuss Scripture.  You have none to deal with.  that is really what you hate, not me.  You hate it that I have pure Scripture to teach, and you have none.

So now.  Slander me on and on.  but you proved you cannot take any truth.  You are sons of Satan.

Satan is a MALE you know.  he is not a female.

Jesus is the seed of the WOMAN, EVE, you know.

So hate her on, too.  Jesus put down the men from their SEATS,   (means place of rulership, you know,)  and EXHALTED them of low degree,  (means the trodden down WOMEN, you know).

So go fight with HIM.  He did it.

He sent a flood because of men taking more than one wife, you know.

No Sons of God existed since then, until Jesus came, preaching that it must go back to the beginning, of the WIFE being the one and only one.
Wife of youth  = wife of the Covenant.  Mal.

What Covenant?  Grace.  The one you father, old Satan Adam threw away.

So no one is in Grace who has two.

And don't forget,  Jesus called it FIVE HUSBANDS.

sO YOU Ladies,  go get yourselves five husbands.

After all,  Jesus did not rebuke her for having FIVE HUSBANDS.

Watch out.  Here comes the foaming-at-the-mouth, mad dogs!

By, by.  enjoy yourselves.  Hell awaits you at the end of the way.  You have rejected the Grace Covenant, for the dead old law covenant.
and you wish to teach others to do the same.  bad, bad, bad you.

FREEBORN
Don't forget, Jesus said she had FIVE HUSBANDS.
So ladies, go get yourselves five husbands.  Jesus did not rebuke her for her five husbands.  that is KJV you know.  and even greater, it comes under the New Testament.

p.s.  Notice how they shoved all my Scripture-full messages aside and forget them, to carry on with their foolish, man-made junk.
