Beloved Prudence
In two more days you will be considered a 'full-fledged' adult by your country's secular government and I know this is a very exciting time for you. It is somewhat appropriate that you enter into this time independantly, so I understand why it is your intention to spend it in the city. I truly hope you will make time to see Pastor Griffiths at the street church when you are there and say hello to him for me.
What can I say to you, my beloved first-born daughter, that I have not said to you before? Now you have made many wise choices in your life; and I applaude you for those good choices you have made. Always remember the parable of the five wise and the five foolish virgins. Remember that it is not enough to be chaste, my beloved daughter, but also to be vigilant. For the present you have exercised much toward your name in vigilance and virtue and I pray that you do continue to be watchful and that you see the evil before the evil finds you. Remember to flee all appearance of evil and continue to be faithful to the name of Jesus. I understand that in this present time it is difficult for a young lady to maintain that sort of valour that becomes a woman in the Lord. Be steadfast and remember the words of our Master.
Know that you are loved and remember those good things that both the elders and the newly born have taught you. Be cautious of those who do engage in battle and remember that the arm of flesh is not to be trusted at any time. Should you feel a song in your heart, lift it up to Jesus and the blessing will prevail. You are now approaching the second floor of the development of you life. This is the summer of your youth. Enjoy it and always give God the glory. The next twenty years of your life (God willing) should prove to be fruitful for you if you continue with the same diligence that you have shown in those things you love and value. Try not to "rush things", but rather have faith that they will come in due season. Not all maidens make it to the "second floor" as you have. How much more rare are the ones who actually make it to the third! I love you, my daughter, with all my heart, and nothing can ever change this. God bless you.
