Two Rules

1..  The films must be posted in ALPHABETICAL ORDER.

2..   You must have seen the film, so you can rate it out of 10.

HAVE FUN X

(The) Quiet American
This is a Michael Caine film, set in the 1950's. He plays a British journalist living in vietnam with his vietnamese mistress. He befriends an American doctor who also falls for Caines mistress. The battle for her affection begins.  Some good acting in this film. 7/10

"Rebecca"    by Daphne De Maurier

directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Its an old black and white movie and very atmospheric,

Its set in Cornwall in the UK and about a young innocent woman who marries a rich widower, she apprantely looks like his late wife. His late wifes death appears to have a hold over the household and mrs Denvers the housekeeper tries her best to scare the new wife.

I have seen this many times while growing up and its the kind of movie thats nice to watch when it raining outside, and you are all safe from the world ! I like Alfred Hitchcock movies.

I give it 9 from 10.

...SOME LIKE IT HOT

comedy from the late 50s starring marilyn monroe, tony curtis and jack lemmon

directed by billy wilder.

Voted recently as one of the best comedy movies ever made.

Its set around the st valentines day massacre and curtis and lemmon witness a mafia killing and are then on the run when caught by the killers watching the murders take place,
they end up in an all female jazz band...called sweets sues...they both dress as women.

the one liners are brilliant and monroe gave a brilliant performance.

I have watched a documentry of this movie and what is was like making it, it was fasinating seeing the stars in a fly on the wall situation off camera.

my favourite bit in the movie is when they draw up at the hotel..it looks really innocent looking and all the women look so excited.

I believe monroe was very late on set for filming and quite "difficult" to work with.

I give it 10 from 10.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

Michelle Pfeiffer
Robert Redford

This movie was made about 10 years ago now I think,
From what I remember of it, Pfeiffer is an up an coming TV reporter and Redford works along side her and discovers her, they hit it off straight away kind of thing, instant chemistry etc ??
Pfeiffer has to take on some big and dangerous broadcast and Redford helps her. She ends with getting big promotion I think.

This is abit of a hammy and romantic type ish movie, worth watching it just for being hammy

I will give it
5 from 10

not my kind of movie really sorry.

Vanilla Sky

staring Tom Cruise
Cameron Diaz

This was made a few years ago and it's very good, very stylish and ahead of it's time, great movie soundtrack too,( which I bought.

to be honest I cannot remember much about the plot sorry but I remember Tom Cruises character seemingly having "it all", he was successful etc, and the story was quite sub culture and deep.

I just remember the last 10 minutes of this movie was quite strange and sad.

I will give it 7 from 10.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

starring Gene Wilder.

This was made in the early seventies and adapted from the book by Roald Dahl

It's about special gold tickets that have been hidden in 5 Willy Wonka chocolate bars throughout the world, and children everywhere are wanting one...because those gold tickets entitle entry to the famous Wonka factory, where all the wonderful chocolate is made.....

I love this movie. It has so many child like qualities and I loved it when I was I little and still have that same feeling now when I watch it.
I wish I could be that ticket winner. It does when you watch it now have certain sinister qualties which I didn't notice when I was little, but I still enjoy it the same now regardless.
I think the way in which the movie made was very ahead of it's time, but cannot explain too well in this post why it is ahead of it's time..you will have to watch it with me lol and then I can explain.!

great movie and I like the kid Charlie Bucket. Sometimes he looked so let down when he wished he'd found that gold ticket..great acting.

I will give it 9 and a half from 10.

p.s  there is a new Willy Wonka movie been completed and set for release soon staring Johnny Depp.
will go to see this.

House of Wax (remake)

Stars a few new faces and Paris Hilton

I found it very exuberating its literally a house of wax... I thought it would be more along the lines of Madam Tussaud...it is but not really it's a house literally out of wax..yet the people that are in wax are literally people in wax...not replicas.

Very edge of the seat and totally nuts.

10/10

Your Friends and neighbours.

Natasha Kinski
Ben Stiller
Jason Patric

this is such a good movie that was made a few years ago.
I caught it by accident one late evening on the telly ,but I haven't seen all of it.
It's really as the title suggests and about how their lives are linked and their relationships.

It does have some lesbian interest in this too :-)
and Jason Patric as I always remember was so horrid to one of the female characters in the library scene.
It's one of those scenes you just can't forget, it's just great. Very good acting by both characters.
Very almost real.

10 from 10
