Art sent by Annette, thank you!

The autumn air is clear,
The autumn moon is bright.
Fallen leaves gather and scatter,
The jackdaw perches and starts anew.
We think of each other- when will we meet?
This hour, this night, my feelings are hard
~ Li Bai.

Autumn seems a long way
From thoughts that play
of lark and cherry tree

Colored theme
Time spent by the sea
Children laughing merrily

Young people sharing
Warmth of summer
Youth once was mine,
the memories grow dimer

Seasons come in life's merry chase
Bracing self
Against winter's embrace

I travel where no man goes
Riddled with hurdles
Determined to overcome

Autumn pumpkins scattered
On the ground
Harvest to gather all around

I'll abide ... with Li Bai
As I stride
feelings renewed,
I have lived life.

As always, you echo the graphic with your words, Maria, but I like how you also echo the words of Li Bai...autumn can be such a season of optimisn and you capture that well.

But I wasn't certain if the spasmodic rhyming pattern was deliberate, or coincidental and if this was to be read as free verse, Maria, (as I often find I speak a short statement in rhyme to everyone's amusement) but it threw me a little as I read, just wondering, Zy

Maria...now that was a stunning combo!  Not familiar with Lai Bai so maybe you could let me know.  I like the the last stanza in particular which had or suggested a haunting or enigmatic quality...regards to you from .. jimmy

I think you captured the spirit of the season as intended in a simple style that made the reder feel part of your vision.

Lai Bai was also known as Li Po...I love the romantic in his verse, I feel his ways...Thank you for your insightfulness, your kind words of review...

Dear Peter,

No, I am not quite that talented. I was fortunate enough to attain the art from another poet friend who wished to inspire me in the midst of my writer's block...she has much faith in me, bless her anyway...Thank you for your response, you mad me smile...
