How I used to envy my elders That they had reached contentment And a solid postion in life. Now that I'm an elder person I see that the position is not so solid And there's still a lot to be done. |

Well Jenny! Now you mention it,I've just constructed a flat pack wardrobe and have moved my suits into the central section, which is half the size of the sections on either side. No doubt Steve is no different from myself and the average male, and is occupying one fifth of all the storage space in the house,as,of course,it should be. The advantage being that a man spends one quarter of the time a woman does in deciding what to wear. Or could I be wrong in this assumption. I await your answer with interest. |

I can just see your hubby,Maria, singing Bryan Adams' Wild Thing.
Wild thing You make my heart sing You make everything groovy Wild thing.
though my imagination won't stretch as far as the Sam Kinison version on YouTube. That one is a wild step too far.

Oh, Philip ....how can you possibly think I take up more than half the wardrobe space ......Steve has far more shirts than I do ! Drawer space is a totally different matter ....... |

You must be a very untypical lady,Jenny! My wife has the master bedroom wardrobe tied up with clothes, four fifths of the spare bedroom wardrobe, and half of the attic space. Like you,she has a monopoly of the drawers. As I write at my computer table,I'm in the "box" room, surrounded by more boxes of Betty's collection of miscellaneous items. When we go on holiday,I'll be purchasing some cardboard boxes to make me feel at home in the hotel. We're off to Spain this week, coming back on Christmas day. Appropriately, the following day is yes : you've got it : Boxing Day. |

PS : An alternative punchline might be : We wouldn't want to miss Boxing Day,now would we? |

Hi Philip, I'm surrounded by boxes too - kid's Christmas presents, that is. All waiting to be delivered on Christmas Eve. Thank goodness the room will be cleared by then! I have to watch where I put my feet in case I stand on a DVD or something. I hope you have a good time! Lynn xx |

Strangely, as I gaze around my den, I also see various random boxes with contents not belonging to me... (For "den" read "Good Lady's dumping ground" ) Enjoy Spain, sir! Gordon |
