I am going to start off this board by talking about one of my true passions, books. Hadassah, written by Tommy Tenney, is the name of a fictional retelling of the Biblical story of Esther. I have always loved the story of Esther, and I find that her tale is uniquely expressed in this novel. Oftentimes I find that the intriquisies of Biblical stories are left to historical research salted with lots of imagination. Simply reading the Bible without any additional research leaves us lacking in the character's thought processes and actions not listed in the text. I find that Tenney does a wonderful job and filling in the details of Esther's story. Although a decent amount of the text can be viewed as speculation, human nature has been the same since Adam and Eve. Reading Esther's story from a very personal point of view causes me to appreciate how God used her to save His people. Since I have not quite finished the book, I will discuss more of this later. -Hope |

I don't hate commities. I realize it's hard enough to make a good partnership work to it's full potential but I also know that my Lord blesses cooperatives. I am pleased to be a lesser king to His honor and glory. Not all men can receive this saying. Though it might well be true that I missed my calling it is said that those who cannot do, teach. Therefore I answer to the call of prophecy and to do what I am permitted in this short remaining life my Lord has granted me. I do not believe that the scriptural reference to the seven women of Isaiah applies to the thousand year period. I will explain why. I don't limit God this way because I know better thant to try. I believe that before "that day" shall come "this day" must precede just as it is written. Once THIS DAY is fulfilled in scripture, then THAT DAY the branch of the LORD will be glorious! BUT.. before THAT day should come even another day must come.. and in that day... Isaiah 4 1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. 2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. 3 And it shall come to pass, <<< [ THIS MEANS ANOTHER DAY... ] that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: 4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. 5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. 6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. In THAT DAY... There will be no reproach until the thousand years is finished. I like to think that we all know the reason why there is suddenly such an abundance of potential wives mentioned in Isaiah Four but none of us is so ready to admit to the fall of those patriarchs which must shortly come to pass. It is nearly finished. Yea, it is even at the door. The call to the patriarchs is to rise up; but the cold light of truth is already on the horizon: They fell many ages ago. Once the kings finish devouring the Harlot the rest will follow and the prophecy of Isaiah 4 will resume completion. All who are His are also part of His commitee and council. There is no escape from this truth. We are also all individually answerable for our souls before God. There will be no such marriage in heaven. Even the Muslims know this is true but take it to an extreme. Women in heaven will also be as angels. The only Husband they will have in heaven will be the Lord God. Sadly, Muslim men don't believe that the spirits of the husbands merge here, on earth, with their wives. That is why they miss out on so much of the truth and so much violence dwells in their hearts: they lack discernment. They are no wiser than the trinitarians in this respect because they believe in no such SPIRITUAL UNION between a man and a woman even on earth, where we live to learn! In fact, I recall recently reading a piece written by a Muslim man who was scoffing at the notion of spirtual bonds between husband and wife. I think it is because he is without sanctification that he should have thought this way. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. SALAAM |

Enochrodofiron1, Thankyou for your very informative posts. However, I am curious as to how the Biblical character of Esther relates to what you have written here. Perhaps you could expound on this. Thankyou, Hope |

The problem with the thought of living with your wife in heaven is there is neither marriage or given in marriage there so.... Look at the passage when Jesus responded to the pharasees when they asked about the woman that had had 7 husbands and your will find the truth. One guy said he had already been in the future ummmmmmm that is why there are special hospitals.. |

Oh, I absolutely loved Hadassah. I saw a preview of the movie some time ago, and I look forward to it.The book also has a sequel called The Hadassah Covenant, but I only got about half-way through it The first book was based largely on research of Esther, but the sequel seemed to take a different direction, so I lost interest. I don't read Sue Grafton, I don't care much for mysteries, but I do read alot of fiction. I tend toward the more fantastic genres, compareable to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Fictional retellings of Biblical characters always intrigue me. I recommend The Red Tent. I also read books on writing and grammar and such almost obsessively because I want to be an author, and I am currently working on my first novel (42 pages so far). Sometimes I will pick up a science-related book as a result of my college years in biology courses. |

The Red Tent is about (hehehe) Jacob and his four wives, but it is told from the viewpoint of one of Leah's daughters, Dinah. The author is Anita Diamant. It focuses on ancient womanhood and does not spend much time on Jacob himself. She expands on the story from the Bible using what we know of history in that time period, as well as her imagination. It is a wonderful, beautiful novel, and nothing else she has written has come close. No, not everything in it is factual, but it provides great insight into the lives of women at that time. The book's popularity is reaching the status of a modern-day classic. It's been years since I read it, but I'll have to read it again. I also recommend another book called The Preservationist, by David Maine. I believe this was his first book, so I don't know how much success you will have in finding it. It tells the story of Noah and his family. The way it is written is a bit odd, but if you can get used to it, it is really quite interesting. Have you ever imagined what it was like to live aboard a ship with all those animals, or watch all those people you knew and lived among drown, or figure out how to repopulate the earth? Noah is represented as a sort of crackpot to be revered, if you can picture it, and every family member has a very unique personality. Lots of humor in the book, too. Hehehe, I love books, and I could go on and on and on.... |
