His flight was short and he was back in the office by mid-afternoon.  He put off checking his email and the message board.  If it was over, he didn't want to know quite yet.  At the end of the second day and no email from her, he logged into the group and spotted a post from her about movies.

It's an older film, but I never tire of watching it.  For those of you not familiar with this flick, It's about 2 people who have basically a one night stand and agree to meet at the same place, every year for a week-end. They are happily married to other people, but take this couple of days out once a year for just them.
