The male libido is a complex mechanism, sometimes operating out of the range of a gentleman's established social behavior. Many times when trying to make an impression, the libido raises it's head at an inconvient time. This can cause extreme embarrassment, especially if one is in a business meeting. By assigning a name, it's hoped that a quicker response to "not now" will be had. In some cases calling a member by title, simply does not elicit the desired results.
It's also helpful to women, who have an active social life. Just knowing the name of this frisky playmate ... helps them keep very close male friends, sorted out.
