I was just reading on one of my rescue sites that the Robeson County Animal Shelter in North Carolina is going to kill all the animals over the next two days so the workers can all have the holiday off!! I can understand an over crowding issue or having to euthanize due to illness/injury, but just so they can have the holiday off!! How is this any different from a person killing their pets becuase they are going on vacation and can't be bothered to find someone to care for them? That is considered animal cruelty according to the laws in Ohio. (Just ask the firefighter that is currently being charged!) I guess if you are a shelter you don't have the same rules! If anyone knows of any rescues that can take any of the animals please contact them. Several of the puppies are going to rescues due to the frantic call for help. Unfortunately most of the adult animals are not spkoen for. I wish I lived closer I would take care of the animals.
