I have a recipe for you guys... I think it would be great for camping or other gatherings... how about a full moon night???  Anyway, here it is.

OMLET IN A BAG

Have guest write their name on a quart size freezer bag with permanent marker.

Crack 2 eggs, (large or extra large) into the bags.  (not more than 2)
and shake to combine.

Put out a variety of ingredients, such as, cheeses, ham, pepperoni, onion, green pepper, hash browns, salsa, etc... anything you'd put in an omlet.

Have each guest add ingredients of their choice to their bag and shake.

Get air out of bags and zip it up.

Place bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes.  Usually, you can cook 6 -8 omlets in a large pot.  For more, make another pot of boiling water.

Open the bags and the omlet will roll out easily.

Be prepared for everyone to be amazed!!!

** Let me know if this works, I haven't tried it yet!!!  Sounds like fun tho.

Bleu

Hello all,

I can tell you this does work.  Being a 'campngirl' I have done this many many times when out in the woods and it's a big hit especially with the kids.  Although they shouldn't be left alone with the pot of boiling water they love putting their items in the bag and then seeing it come out all cooked up.  The best part is the clean up...just toss the bag in the garbage.  I would like to add thought that I double bag mine just in case there is a whole or a weak spot in the original baggie.  I learned this the hard way ; )

TTFN - Mary

P.S. Have you ever had Ice Cream while you were out in the middle of the woods??  I can tell you how to make that if you're interested.  This is also a very fun thing for the kids to do.

Coffee Can Ice Cream:

What You Need
3 pound empty coffee can w/ lid, 1 pound empty coffee can w/lid, 1 Pint of half & half, 1/2 Cup of sugar, Rock Salt, Ice
How To Make It
Be sure empty cans are clean and free of any smell or residue of soap.

In small can mix half & half with 1/2 cup of sugar. I usually add a small amount of vanilla. You can also add any frozen fruit you like.  Put lid on and I duct tape it down.  You will need to remove this to stir so don't get carried away with it.

Place some Ice in the bottome of the large can.  Place the small can inside big can. Put ice down the sides and on top of the small can. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of rock salt onto the ice.  Place lid on and duck tape the lid on.  You will need to remove this once during this process to stir the contents of the smaller can and to add more ice and salt so put on enough to secure it but not so much that you can't get into it.

Now comes the fun!!!   If you are outside just gather the kids and let them play kick ball with the can.  If you are inside put a sheet or other large covering on floor and let them kick the can around the room.  After about 10 minutes check the small can.  If the ice cream isn't firm enough replace the lid and then redo the ice and salt and kick around for another 5-10 minutes or so.

Eat the ice cream and enjoy!

If you don't want to deal with the can's there is a new product out on the market that they made especially for this.  You can follow the link to check it out:
