let me tell you about a very strange thing that happened to me today.

 

I was at work.  I am a customer service rep at the local insurance company.  Generaly I keep my pendant inside my shirt.  We do live in the middle of a lot of churchs( okay I know you know all of this but I am providing some background for those that don't *S*)  You know my amber pendant with my pentacle.  They share the same chain.  Anyways so as not to offend I wear it inside my shirt.  SOmetimes it slips out but most people don't see the pentacle.  Okay here goes I was taking a payment from a Lady and she says "Oh what a pretty necklace."  I said thank you.  I didn't even realize it had fallen outside of my shirt.  Now here comes the strange part.  She looks at it again and says "What's that a Star of David?"  I quickly said no and then dropped the pendant back into my shirt.  SHe then said oh are you Wiccan?  You don't have to hide it from me I have a few friends that are Wiccan.  My family is part Native american and my brother honors the spirits.  I am a christian though but that is okay.  I said yes I was.  You peple don't really understand the difference and so I said yes.  My boss had gone already gone home so it was just me and her in the office.  She then proceeded to ask me some questions and asked if it was alright if she asked me questions.  I told her of course it was alright and she wasn't prying and I would be more than happy to answer her.  after a few minutes I told her that I wasn't actually Wiccan but a Green Witch or a hedge witch.  This facinated her and she asked if it was alright for her to ask me exactly what that was.  She didn't want to offend me in any way she said.  I told her she wasn't and I explained to her what Iw as all about.  She asked if I cast spells and such.  I told her that I didn't often but when the need arose that the Goddess would supply me with a spell.  She was curious as to if I worshiped a one God and I explained to hr that although I did have a God that I mostly had several dieties (mostly Goddess) that I talked to as well as dragons.  I named Cerridwen, Brigd, Oden, Freya, Epona.  She said excitedly that "Oh you are a Druid."  I said no but trees and such were important to me also.  Okay now here was another strange thing, she then asked me if it was alright if she gave me a hug.  She felt this need to give me a hug.  I said sure.  So she gave me a hug.  Then she asked me if I believed in unseen  creatures.  I told her yes I did and asked her why.  She said she felt she could ask me and talk to me about an incident that had occured around her house and that I wouldn't laugh at her or think she was insane.  I assured her that there are plenty of things that we can't always explain and there are loads of things that occure on an different plane than the physical.  So she said one day she was out in the woods around her house and she felt the need to look up into the tree tops.  There the trees were moving gracfully and she thought she could see something that resembled a cat of sorts moving from tree top to treetop.  it was camaflouged mostly but she could catch glimpses of it.  I asked her if it made her feel uncomfotable or frightened.  She said no that it had a familiar feel to it.  I explained that it was probably an animal guide or protector to her and her family and it was just kind of saying hi here I am you don't have to worry.  I am watching out over you.  I told her everyone has one or two but they don't always get to see them.  I explained that dragons followed me and my family around and that there were also crows and ravens that did.  You could see the relif in her eyes that I didn't scoff at her and had a feasable explaination for her.  She also said that when she first moved into her house that she could feel something watching her all of the time so one day when she was alone she just went outside and started talking to the world around her.  She said they had no other place to go and she had prayed to God very hard for them to find a place tolive and that this house showed up for them.  She went ouside and said to the entity that she was just there to live and survive like they were and that she wasn't there to hurt them and she just wanted to live in peace.  Then she got a warm feeling of comfort and had no troubles.  I told her that that was th correc thing to do and that the spirits themselves just wanted to let her knwo that they agreed to work with her.  I suggested she discuss these things with her brother if he was into those things but she said he treated her like she wasn't serious or that it was trivial.  She said she felt liek a weight had been lifted and that she was going to come and talk to me again if it was alright.  I told her sure.

 

Okay now you know me always second guessing myself. *LOL*  I did feel kind of drained after our conversation.  I don't really advise people like that much and this is actually the first time anyone has really asked for my opinion on this sort of thing.  I did tell her also that she was obviously supossed to see my pendant and see it for what it was becasue it is almost always under my shirt and most people just see the amber pendant.  we discussed other things like grounding, hugging trees and such.

 

Guess I just needed to tell the story and get a little reassurance that I gave the right advice.  I felt good that she felt she could open up to me and that I could educate her in some of our ways.  Okay now I am rambling so I will quit.  I just had to share.
