The funeral was yesterday. There were a lot of tears and sorrow (for ourselves of course, being deprived of my Sister's company in our lives) but I know that she is happy and healthy.
My Mom held up pretty well. She shed a lot of tears and at first kept on saying 'It isn't true, this isn't happening', but I think she finally excepted it.
My Brother-in-law didn't show much emotion in public but I am sure that behind closed doors he also got very emotional and shed tears. The wonderful man was being the good father that he has always been and comforted his sons and their wives through most of it.
Fred and I had three of our friends over to the apartment yesterday. We lit a candle for Mary, smudged and then the 5 of us did some drumming as our way of giving her a sendoff (so to speak). One of my friends swore that she saw a shadow at the front of the chapel while the Minister was speaking. She said it was black with white light surrounding it. One of my other friends said that as the casket passed by her she could feel my sister's spirit swoosh right through her. We figured it was my Sister just checking in to watch the funeral and see what everyone had to say about her. We were expecting about 50 people and over 100 showed up. It is amazing to realize how many lives she touched and how much she was loved. She was truly a wonderful lady.
