E Eadha ?White Poplar
Helps rebirth, prevents Illness.
Of all the trees in the Ogham alphabet, the White Poplar, is the one most concerned with the earthly and material aspects of life. It is also concerned with the spiritual strength and endurance to face the harsh realities that life presents to us, often unexpectedly, or over a long, wearing period of time. It conveys a sense of the ability to endure and conquer. The Poplar has 3 attributes: an ability to resist and to shield; an association with speech and language; and a close relationship with the winds.
Drawing the white Poplar card represents, through its quivering, your fears and doubts about the impossible odds you must overcome. But it also bears a shield by carrying to you a spiritual voice with words of guidance. To aid this determination you need to develop, until it can deal with your problems, however daunting or destructive they appear, the card speaks and encourages. In this way it prevents death and the urge to give way under the sometimes daunting burden of worldly pressures. It is, therefore, of great assistance on the journey towards rebirth.
If the card is drawn reversed, the clamor of your fear is drowning out the voice in the wind. You need to listen to this voice and your own instincts more carefully, and be willing to heed the messages they bring you.
