The Gift-Giver, Goddess of Agriculture
Demter was goddess of corn and harvest. Her daugther Persephone was kidnapped by Hades God of the Underworld. Demeter and Persephone were worshipped in the rites of the Eleusinian Mysteries. Demeter controls the wheel of the year. She is the Earth Mother, Goddess to farmers. She encourages care and respect of the Earth.
