Merry meet:   It is hard to descirbe why I came up with the name Raveness.  I do a little bit of writing in my spare time(or used to when I had spare time) . It is a name I used a lot for my heroines.  It gave them a mystical name that was unusual.  I have always liked the mystice of the Raven and Crow.  just seemed right.   Love and laughter ~Raveness~

When I first started studying Wicca, I bought a bag of runes & a book. I began reading the runes, & found that I liked them better than Tarot cards, because they seemed to be much easier to use, & told me more about myself & my spiritual journey than trying to go through the confusing twists & turns of Tarot. Every reading I did, the Rune Degaz came up right at the moment I was into Karma, & spiritual divination. Later, when I began to search for a magickal name, I knew the Degaz was to be part of it, but what was I going to do for my other name? I knew that Degaz (beginnings) was not all of what I was all about. I had dreams of the Phoenix over & over during my journey. I decided that the Phoenix would be my familiar. This surprised me, because all of my life, even as a child, I was fascinated with ancient Egyptian history & culture, & felt as though I had lived in that time. I thought that the Sphynx or the cat (Bast) would find its way to be my familiar. But, that was not to be! The Phoenix persisted, throughout my dreams. I knew that this was not only to be my familiar, but also the first name in my magickal name, & Degaz would be my second, because have risen from the ashes of one spiritual journey, (trying all of the Christian religions, & studying many others) to BEGINNING and finding myself in Wicca. So, here I am Phoenix Degaz. It feels good, & it fits me completely.  Thank you for letting me join your group, & letting me tell my story. Blessings

They both sound good! I like them both but I like the sound of Eriu The Grey best My feeling for grey is balance, and it seems to fit :)

i am not sure of the meaning as my craft name came to me during meditation. i was sitting by a stream in the moonlight, thinking about my personality, my nature, the type of person i am and then..........there it was LadyTaraHarp

i have a second craft name LadyRitkaPendragon, also thru meditation. i have been off work this week with an awful cold, got perscr from the doc yesterday which are helping greatly, anyway, i was outside for some freshair, was looking up at the sky and saw a crow flying around, all of a sudden this name popped into my head "LadyGoldenOwl", not sure what to make of it. is it "normal" for one to have a few craft names?

I like the EriuTheGrey also, but do not what to be mixed up with Tolkiens wizard Gandolf The Grey. I am sure ppl will pick about it, I might also need to save it for when I am wise enough to be a Crone. I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for your input. The one I use on yahoo is light_of_eriu. Thats a little different than Eriu The Grey. I am very undecided. I will have to meditate. But I do like the grey better.

My name Lucifer's Daughter, I chose, because Lucifer, the morning star, the lightbearer, despite the negative connotations, is a beautiful god of light. He is the brother and lover/equal half of Diana, from their Union came Aradia, the teacher-witch-goddess. Now, i have always been taught to think in positives. In other words, if I want to become more like the divine, I am to know that I am part of it, to give myself a name of such "power" (for lack of a better term) will ensure that I am to reach that goal. Does this make sense? I often ramble, sorry! I'm a very thinking/talkative air sign...

i'm not studying strega in particular i've dabbled a bit, but i have no access to good information. I am mistrusting of some internet info, and have not run across any good books worth reading. Anyway. the name just came to me and it seemed to fit. People have often called me the dark angel..... for i am angelic only in looks. ;)
