MM Raveness, When using herbs in your experience is it better to grow your own or buy them? What do you do? Have you ever grown your own? I am a bit of a green thumb and I think that might prove cheapier than buying. Thanks |

Merry Meet SavySage: If you are blessed with a green thumb then it is better to grow and harvest your own herbs. You have more of a personal interaction with them as you have nutured them and tended to them. They will know what your needs for them will be. I have just started my herb garden this year and hopefully it will prosper. Of course there may be herbs you can't grow, for various reasons, then of course you may buy them. I use herbs I have bought and they work just fine for me. A lot of herbs that are used are commonly found in your local grocery store. They work just fine. Also it is okay, im my humble opinion to use your cooking herbs for magickal uses just let the herbs know what your needs are. There is no reason to go out and buy two of everything one for magick, one for ordinary use. I know there are those out there that feel that you should keep them separate but so many of our ordinary things are used for magick. In the old days they used what was on hand. Besides most people either don't have the room for a lot of herbs, or they cannot aford to have two of everything. I know I digress a little bit *S*. I hope I have answered your question. Love and laughter |

The house I just moved to has a garden. It's a little over grown now, and since it's so cold out, I proably wont be able to do much till early spring. I tried growing herbs last year, but wasn't bery successfull, I think I'll do better this time. Plus I have room for veggies. maybe we could compare notes this next planting season. I've heard of a thing called seed exchange. I don't know if that's still going on, but if anyone knows anything about it, it sounded great. People all accross the country and world sent seeds to each other. Like a bood exchange, but with seeds. Currently my thumb is brown, but I enjoy being outside so much, I'm willing to put my all into gardening. Love and Lite,Starla |
