Mabon is the time of year we celebrate the second and last harvest of the year. The day is the same length as the night. It's time to say goodbye to the fruitfulness of summer and also to the Lord and Lady as the Lord will come to collect his Lady and take her until it is time for her rebirthing of nature. This is a good time to reflect on goals that you made this spring and a time to let them go and reflect on what went wrong so next year you can try once again to obtain them. A time for inner reflection of your life and what you would like from it. An easy way to celbrate this festival is to gather some autumn fruits and flowers. Have a white candle on hand and a black one to celebrate both the dark and the light. Light the white one and give thanks to the Lady for her bounty she has given us through the summer and light the black one to welcome the darkness to come and to thank the Lord to protect the Lady in wait for them to return.
many thanks be to you! the boys and i had fun...good family time searching for leaves and what not...the boys liked the candle part...said we were having thanksgiving in september instead of november
