The Fools Journey

CARD: 0 - The Fool
DECK: Robin Wood Tarot
Description of the Card:
Colors present: red, white, blue, green, yellow
Animals present: dog, 3 butterflies (yellow, white and red or pink)
Other Notes: Red and white flowers present, a blue river below the cliff and white mountains in the background. The 'fool' is playing a flute, seeming to be unaware of being so close to the edge of the cliff. Ribbons (red, yellow, orange, green and blue) tied in his hair. A red feather in his/her hair as well as a wreath of flowers (daisys?) in his/her hair.
My thoughts:
~~ When I first look at the card, I see a carefree young man, maybe beginning his/her lifes journey. Starting out on an adventure.
~~ The youthful excitement as he/she starts out is evident in the actions of the dog at his/her side.
~~ Many people seem to think he/she is unaware of his surroundings, but to me he's/she's very aware of what lies below.
~~ I don't feel any danger in this card as some seem to think.
~~ The 'fool' is to me, only foolish as far as his/her youth. With time he/she will become experienced and more mature as time passes.
~~ The butterflies and the dog indicate that there is much excitement surrounding the center figure.
~~ The flute is a relaxing instrument and therefore to me it shows he is
balanced and not unsettled by the beginning of an unknown journey.
~~ The colors presented in the card are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple (one butterfly) ... I feel that the colors represented and the rainbow (not shown, but indicated with the colors) shows that there is total balance.
~~ The Ribbons to me show that the wind is blowing towards our young friend, a brisk early morning, spring breeze perhaps.
~~ The colors are also not faded or clouded, showing me that there is a freshness, newness to this card.
~~ His/Her outfit consists of tights .. one leg, red and white diamonds, the other leg green and yellow stripes. The shirt is white and frilly and clean. The vest is blue and yellow stripes and also seems to be pressed.
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
The fool card is the beginning of a journey, new starts, new thoughts. It is an indicator that new things are on the horizon. In a reading it shows me that new things will be happening in your life. I haven't done any readings other than ones for myself and usually either a one-card reading or a past, present, future reading and I feel that this card, regardless of where it is in the reading that something new is going to appear or happen in my life. |
