A Hope for Love

Around me the shadows danced and called. With the stars dull, the moon held little promise for my eyes to see.

With the cloak of loneliness wrapped around me tight. Trying hard to keep out the frigid air of night. I wandered and stumbled with no destination in sight. I started to believe I was on an endless hopeless flight, forever in the night.

I walked in the cold and dark of night. Afraid and alone. Wondering what the night would bring. Wondering if I would ever see another day; for the loneliness was darkening and hardening my heart.

As the darkness was closing in with its weight beating me down, ready to give in I scream long and loud at the dark. Until my vision is gone and my breath is naught. The night is still and dark as time slides by.

Out of the night comes an owl’s cry. Piercing the silence and the dark. Looking up I see the moon cutting through the night. I lay there soaking up the moon’s silvery light. I look and see a new path to my right.

I start down that path because it feels right. The moon guides me and the owl gives me new flight. As I walk down that path sure and clear. The moon fades, but the stars are shining up high and clear.

As the moon sets behind hills and trees, I look up the hill in front of me. I look behind me and the darkness is closing fast. I turn ready to run from the night, when upon the hill appears a beautiful light.

The brightness is hard to look at, eyes squinting tight; a shape steps out of the light.

Her warmth and beauty take away my fright. Her love glows, beating back the night.

I know as soon as our eyes meet we’ve been searching for each other. We run to each other, arms out-stretched, knowing we will find safety and protection in each others arms. Our love intertwines.

I knew in an instant we were meant to be. As long as we are together the night can never harm us. It may enclose us too let the silvery light of the moon bath us.

The sun shinned brightly the day we were brought together. Where ever the sun shines I know I’ll find you. For the sun may warm me outside but your loving smile warms me inside.

The sun’s warmth and light are cool and dull compared to the light and warmth that fills me when I thing of you
