Hi tiredofsomanynuts,
Certainly things are in a mess right now here in he USA. We are seeing the chickens coming home to roost for that whole economic point of view-trickle down, supply side, free market etc.-that got started in the Reagan years-although it has always been in the background of the thinking in this country.
I hope now, at least for the time being, people can see it for the crock it is. The idea that completely free markets, unregulated, and so-called getting the government out of the picture is the key to financial prosperity for all has shown itself to be a completely false philosophy. We are now reaping the fruits of that root.
Of course, these people don't want anything "socialistic" like even Social Security or health coverage for everyone but that doesn't stop them from coming, hat in hand , when they need to be bailed out. Then they are all for "socialism." They believe in "socialism" for the rich, actually. It's just for the rest of us they are against it.
I am familiar with this theory of the New World Order. Although I am not a conservative at all, I have listened to quite a bit of Alex Jones. I like Alex Jones-he is a passionate, good hearted man. I agree with some of his views even though I am a progressive. And certainly there is an elite who doesn't care much for the rest of us.
However, I have investigated a lot of this kind of conspiracy thinking and, although, there probably is some truth to a some of it, if you keep going with it, it can land you in the lunatic fringe with Draco reptilians trying to take over the earth.
For myself, I have decided to not listen to too much of Alex Jones. It can make you very hysterical and paranoid in a quick order. The idea that we can buy food and get guns and hunker down is not correct in today's world, if you ask me. We are all in this together and we all have to work together to make things change. People just have to wake up and start demanding their country back from the black magicians who have tried to steal it for their own gain.
Get out and vote. Vote for real change in the next election. It is not true that one party is as bad as the other. I have been through enough adminstrations to know that there is a difference. They are not all the same.
In the end, all this hysteria that can be generated by listening to people like Alex Jones (even though I like him and I agree with him on 9/11), moves us away from our own centers and our faith in God as the final Authority and Control. Instead of hoarding food and running around in a panic, try praying and seeing God as your Refuge and Hope.
