My ExN recently had his phone contact with our d restored. He agreed that I could tape the phone calls.
Now, when I record his calls, the tape recorder operates, but at varying speeds. When I play the tape back, I can hear the voices, but the speed of the voice goes from very slow to very fast, as so forth. Yet, when I taped other calls to see what happens, the tape plays back fine.
I did a search for "disable phone recording device" and found that there are products sold online that claim to disable taping devices on the other party's phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? |

Thanks for the response PlumFrog.
I have a pretty old recording device from Radio Shack. I would invest in something better, but really at this point, I'm not sure it would be worth my money. What you have sounds very useful in situations where there is more interaction between the parties.
I let our case manager know about the problems with the recordings. I told the case manger that despite the fact that I can record other calls just fine, I would switch tapes and see if that makes a differences. I'm not too sure that I can convince the case manager that ExN is smart enough to know how to interfere with the recording device. There certainly are some different things out there that claim to interefere. Some for as much as $800. As my mother said, if ExN actually spent that much money just to hide his phone conversations with his d, it is truly pathetic! |
