Cynthia Lennon bears one of the most famous names of the 20th century. Yet she remains something of a puzzle to millions of fans all over the world.
Hopefully today she will reveal a little more about one of the famous marriages in rock history with her book simply titled John.
Cynthia married John Lennon on August 23, 1962 at Registry Office in Mount Pleasant and they had a son together, Julian.
It seems as though the Lennons' romance was an unbalanced one. From the start, it was Cynthia who was in love with John. She seems to have been aroused by his rebellious quality which was in contrast to her middle class snobiness. She pursued him and eventually won him, but it always appeared that he would cast her aside for things or people that were more important to him, namely Yoko Ono.
The crowd who have turned out today is large, and it seems that any connection with the Beatles will always be a big draw.
