Rat Scabies

Call him what you will ... Demon drummer, punk icon/legend there is no doubt that Rat Scabies is one of the fore most figures of the British Punk scene.  Born Chris Miller,  July 30th 1957 in Kingston Upon Thames Surrey,  he played with 'London SS' and 'Rot' before forming punk band 'The Damned' along with Brian James, Captain Sensible and former grave digger Dave Vanian.

'The Damned' were the first punk band to release a UK single and the first to tour the States. Since leaving 'The Damned',  Rat is currently playing drums for Donovan's 'Beat Cafe Tour' and has also just released a book called 'Rat Scabies and The Holy Grail',  which has been called punk rock meets the 'Da Vinci Code'.

As one of the godfathers of punk,  I wish I had all the time in the world,  after all,  this man toured with Marc Bolan and  played on the infamous 'Anarchy Tour'.  He was friendly with Sid and Nancy and could probably fill a theatre with stories of the bands antics/managers/members (which have briefly included Lemmy and Robert Fripp).

'The Damned' still tour today,  but sadly without Rat.  For many people,  Rat is and always will be 'THE Damned.'  After a photo shoot at The Beck Theatre in Hayes, he has to go... after all he is on stage soon and will also be talking at The Sauniere Society in London for his book.
