On what is probably the hottest day of the year,  so far,  I make the most of the idyllic surroundings of The Watermill Theatre.  Today is the opening for Mack and Mabel, which stars none other than David Soul. This hugely popular tv and recording star, achieved pop icon status with hits such as "Silver Lady" and is fresh from his stage performance of the controversial Gerry Springer.

He has now made a home for himself in the UK, but still finds the time to continually champion and raise awareness for issues, such as the impact of the Vietnam War, HIV awareness and poverty. Most of us remember him for being in Starsky and Hutch and he famously camoed in the remake... but declined to comment of what he thought of the film. Such a gentleman!
