Oxfordshires most prestige yearly event is on us again! Set in the beautiful surroundings of The River Thames, by the famous Leander Club, which gave us our Olympic rowing hero's, such as Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent. It should be famed for it's rowing races of colleges and Universities, this year included Yale and Harvard with a Kennedy rowing, but it is more popular for Corporate people to bring their partners for a glamourous day out with drinking of champagne and the consuming of superb foods.
Boutiques in the pretty town have heard the ringing of cash registers for months on end, with women trying to out do hats and accessories. With all accommodation booked and prices raised, the small town train station is overwhelmed with hoards of merry makers, who can boast to their friends of watching the rowing, but secretly go for the prestige and to get slightly drunk.
Apart from BMW's, Porsches and every manner of car parked where it shouldn't be, the river's packed with socialites' boats moored for the duration, it is five days of tradition and certainly does the towns economy no harm!
