The queue outside Waterstones in Oxford is long and with the guest in store, it's no suprise. Today the shop is graced with Gene Wilder, who is in the UK promoting his new book 'A Kiss From A Stranger'. 72 years old, today he looks well and is a very quiet man, not quite what you'd expect from one of comedy's great actors. Born Jerome Silberman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he changed his name to Gene Wilder, because he couldn't see a Jerry Silberman playing Hamlet!
Gene's most memorable performances have to be 'Young Frankenstein' and 'Blazzing Saddles'. .. Although, he won an Academy Award for his performance in 'The Producers' as best supporting actor.
