Tonight it's damn hot, too hot for a concert, 35 degrees and humid! Maybe tonight's band should be called The Red HOT HOT HOT HOT Chili Peppers. Reading's football stadium is packed to the brim for tonight's special gig.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a California-based rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. The current band members are Anthony Kiedis (lead vocals), Flea (Bass), John Frusciante (Guitar/Backing vocals), and Chad Smith (Drums).
Even though they have experienced numerous line-up changes and personal problems, the band has successfully created a sound that combines elements of funk, punk, rap, psychedelic rock, heavy metal and lately pop rock. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have maintained commercial and critical success since their breakthrough Blood Sugar Sex Magik was released in 1991. Over the past 23 years, they have produced nine studio albums which have sold about 57 million copies worldwide.
The fans are from all warps of life, Mums, Dads, punks, surfers, but the moment the band come on stage they all unite like they are attached to a giant bungy rope. They sail through all their classic hits, Give it Away, Californication, Under The Bridge...a sweaty but happy night indeed!
