Another hot day is upon us, and we are off again! lucky for us it's a little local job today, and we are off to the enchanting village of Little Milton just outside Oxford. The Manor House, a privately owned mansion, is host to the annual village fete.
Raymond Blanc, famous French chef and owner of the exclusive Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons restaurant in Great Milton, is the host of today's little event.
2.00pm strickes on the church tower, and Raymond arrives and cuts the ribbon to open the days festivities. He is more than generous and donates a meal for two at his restaurant and a night at the hotel as a prize on the raffle.
Geoff has had the pleasure of several photocalls with Raymond, and they greet each other with enthusiasm. Raymond must feel comfortable being photographed by him as he even stuck his head in the stock and got pelted by a soaking wet sponge thrown by a little boy! Maybe he just needed cooling down, but whatever the reason, it was a really nice thing to do (unlike a lot of celebs having to look immaculate for the camera). He even purchased locally made cakes and a pizza cutter!! What a good sport!
After a tea in the tent we watched the hot air balloon in the grounds take him into the air. If I wasn't scared of heights...maybe another time!
