Caversham prepares for the onslaught of metal lovers, weeks in advance and the streets turn into a mini Camden market. They are selling memorabillia, beer, food and this year the electrical shop is even offering hot showers for the campers for £4.00 a time!
Getting passes for the festival is like finding gold, so a good job has to be done. The site is massvie and with numerous stages, you have to be fit to cover everything!
The headliners this year are The Pixies, Marilyn Manson and Iron Maiden, over 55 thousand tickets are sold out months in advance.
The weather couldn't be better and having made a sensible decision, I'd decided on a game plan as to who is more news worthy to cover. The pictures for this report are of Lily Kwan famous for wearing nothing and interviewing stars. She tells us... she is lucky it is warm this year! And it is good to watch the interviewees eyes stray from her face!
Nick Oliveri, once of The Dwarves and Queens of The Stone Age fame is jamming with his friends Winnebago Deal and his band Mondo Generator so they become for the night Winnebago Generator. His friend, Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters is watching side stage, but it is too dark for any pictures.
The Towers of London are a new band slihtly taking the micky we think, out of 80's hair metallers but are good fun and love the camera!
Marilyn Manson in the big draw of the festival and love him or hate him, he always puts on a fantastic show. I actually like him so it is a treat for me. He has more costume changes, than anything and belts out all his well known tunes and the crowd love him!
So after three days of 8.00am until 1.00pm, a lot of picture editing has to be done, but it is worth every minute. Tickets have gone on sale for next years festival already and know doubt, fans are crossing off the days!
