2nd-3rd July 2005
The rain has held off for now which is a good thing. People have paid £75.00 a ticket per night to see Diana Ross and Rod Stewart, at the annual Blenheim Music Festival. This is held in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire... The ancestoral home of Winston Churchill and present home of the Duke of Marlborough. Perhaps the cost aleviates some of the anxiety of having swarming fans eager to see two of the biggest names in music.
Diana Ross is first on the bill and doesn't dissappoint. In a dress that resembles a red cloud, as each song goes she sheds a layer. She looks remarkabe for her age, which no-one is willing to tell exactly!
Rod Stewart is a little trickier, wanting all press to cover his two songs from the mixing desk. Maybe he is concerned about his looks, but for 60 years he doesn't look bad! The only tell tale signs of age were the gaps in between songs with instrumentals and drum solo's carrying on.
His daughter Ruby Stewart came on for two songs, but alas no pictures were taken. Before we know it, we are asked to leave. Everyone looked as if they could raise the roof, if there was one !
