The sun is shining, but it is bitterly cold today. As it will be a long two hours waiting, I wish I had wrapped up a bit warmer.
The location for today's Royal visit is Penn Special School in a little pretty village just outside High Wycombe, 30 minutes drive from London.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex is married to Prince Edward son of the Queen. Today she is alone as she visits the school. Penn Special School is a school for deaf children, and the Countess is here to unveil the new IT Department and to tour the school.
The school children are delighted to see her, and they put on a dance display for her. The visit is due to finish, but her Royal Highness extended her stay as she was clearly enjoying the children.
A local school girl, Louise Brown, presented her with a bouquet as the Countess reluctantly had to leave. Sophie is a lovely lady, very natural and at ease with everything and everyone, and judging by the smiles on the children's faces it is a day they will remember.
