World renowned author Wilbur Smith is the guest of honour today at the Marwell Zoological Park in Winchester.

Living in Africa and setting his best selling books there, he is the ideal person to open the new Heart of Africa exhibit. He opens the new giraffe walkway which means people can walk out on a 30 foot high runway to view the most graceful of animals, he even gets to feed one with a treat of a carrot!

Marwell has many African species and the new exhibit, Heart of Africa, will house the beautiful herd of bongo and impressive Congo buffalo. In addition they have a new aquarium with Lake Malawi tropical fish.  Afterwards Wilbur takes time out to meet his fans and sign copies of his new book Triumph Under The Sun.
