Hey guys.  If you call your cell phone provider and block a number from calling your phone, what does the intended caller get?  Straight to voice mail, a message saying the number is blocked, nothing at all?  Just curious.  Thanks!

You don't see a number it just says "Blocked Caller ID"

Believe me I know.  THe XN/P used to get calls like this all the time at all hours of the day and night.  I believe they were from the woman he had an affair with and various girlfriends...... suddenly he started blocking his caller ID.  It's all a game.

So if it goes straight to voicemail the call is not blocked?

I have heard recordings before where restricted calls are blocked and it states "Im sorry this number does not receive restricted calls" or something to that effect. No voicemail or anything. I believe it would be similiar to a blocked number.

I recently posted here that some providers will block numbers at your request. I did this to my XNHb regarding his cell phone but he would use his daughters phone or office then it was pay phones. YIKES!!!!! Anyway one of his phone messages said in a very COLD voice "I have just gotten off the phone with ????? and they told me you have blocked my number, YOU NEED TO CALL THEM AND UNBLOCK IT!" THE CELL PHONE MESSAGE SAYS , "'YOUR NUMBER HAS BEEN BLOCKED BY THIS ???? CUSTOMER". You would think when my XNH would have gotten the message when he called the first time. Some people just can't take being told "no more".

Hi Niecer,

I am not sure what kind of cell phone provider you have but my provider (Verizon) was not able to block a single cell # so I changed my phone # when I went NC. My xN still knew my home phone #, screenname, email, etc. but I think he was so embarrassed when he finally realized I changed my # that he didn't try contacting me.

If you change your #, don't EVER give it to him! I went 2.5 months with NC and am mostly over it, but I gave him my # and I kick myself everyday!

The verizon network allows you to call other verizon customers via cell without ringing the phone.  you can call your own VM and the message will say "to send a message press 2".  When you hit the number it asks you to enter the 10 digit number.  Then it goes right into their VM.

I know this because the XN/P used to harass me with cowardly threats and accusatory messages but didn't have to balls to ring my phone or talk to me person to person.  He like controlling the message he delivered.

Block you home number and listen to the message you get.

There is no nice way to block a call.  You are sending a message to the caller thier contact is unwelcome and an intrusion.

youmail.com is a free voicmail service. You can pick a personalized message. The one I picked was The person you have called doesn't want to speak to you your wasting her time your time and GO TO HELL! For the OW it's a rap song that say's BITCH Don't call me no more! When they call they get those messages and then it hangs up on them so they cannot leave me a message. It worked they called me a couple of times and then it stopped they haven't called me since.

He called me from a motel, once but he denies it. It was 2: 00 am. I didn't answer the phone in time, and didn't recognize the number. I called it back and got Motel 6, I had been out and was buzzed so I ask for N's room and they rang it. I didn't really expect to find him there. He didn't answer, I think he picked up a a hooker from the truck stop next store and called me before he left. Two days later he was at my mom and dads church with his new girlfriend. I feel sorry for her she thinks she has met her prince but she really has met the devil.
